Further to his statement in June 2016, does the Minister propose to issue a formal response to the consultation on the Draft Directions to the Local Democracy and Boundary Commission Wales, which closed in November 2015?
We published our summary of responses to the consultation on the Draft Directions in March 2016. I attach a link to the document here.
The Draft Directions relates to the electoral arrangements of the proposed new local government areas under the local government reform programme. As I stated in my Written Statement published on the 23 June, I will be proposing the way forward on local government reform in the autumn. We will not be taking forward these Draft Directions and the Local Democracy and Boundary Commission will return to its normal cycle of reviews of electoral arrangements.
