Will the First Minister make a statement on how he intends to take forward proposals for the M4 relief road, with particular reference to any commissioning date that might be under consideration?

Draft statutory Orders and environmental reports were published for the proposed new section of motorway in March. Stakeholder responses are now being reviewed and the next step for the project would be to consider holding a Public Local Inquiry. Subject to the outcome of the Inquiry a decision would then be required in order to start work in the spring of 2018.
