Will the Minister detail the Welsh Government's future plans for community engagement with local government during the Fifth Assembly?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children | Answered on 14/06/2016

The Welsh Government has set out its plans for community engagement in both legislation and policy. In terms of legislation, The Well Being of Future Generations Act (Wales) 2015, for example, comprises seven well-being goals for Wales and five ways of working to deliver these goals.
Involvement is one of the principles of sustainable development highlighted by the Act, i. e. “The importance of involving people with an interest in achieving the well-being goals, and ensuring that those people reflect the diversity of the area which the body serves. ”

The Fifth Assembly will continue to deliver these plans and support the involvement of communities in decisions that affect them.
