How does the Welsh Government plan to secure the workforce needed to deliver the childcare offer?
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality | Answered on 13/10/2026
Expansion of the workforce is central to delivery of childcare expansion. We will grow and develop the workforce in partnership with local authorities, sector stakeholders and childcare settings.
A Workforce Plan is being developed in collaboration with partners and the Childcare Expert Steering Group.
The Plan will be published in November and will outline the actions to be taken to support and grow the workforce.
