I am pleased that Swansea has already rolled out the first phase of Welsh Government-funded childcare, providing 12.5 hours of quality childcare to all two-year-olds. We continue to work closely with Swansea Council to support delivery, raise awareness among eligible families and ensure children can benefit from the wider Flying Start package, including enhanced health visiting, parenting support and speech, language and communication support.

Our priority is to complete the delivery of 12.5 hours for all two-year-olds across Wales before increasing this to 20 funded hours a week for 48 weeks. Alongside this, we are working with childcare providers to extend the expanded offer to all three- and four-year-olds, before extending support to children aged nine months to two years.
