Was the role of chair of the independent expert panel concerning the design and remit of a development agency for Wales advertised?
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy | Answered on 25/09/2026
The chair of the expert advisory panel is an unpaid advisory role and a full public appointment process would neither have been proportionate nor quick enough to ensure we have prompt expert advice to support the establishment of a new development agency. Interviews weren’t conducted for the post, and the appointment was made by the First Minister on the basis of the skills and experience relevant to the role.
