What discussions has the Cabinet Minister had with Cardiff Council regarding projects that can be supported through the Tour de France legacy fund to strengthen the city's cycling infrastructure and visitor offer?
The Croeso i Feicwyr Fund was launched in July 2026 to support projects that improve cycling infrastructure, facilities and visitor experiences throughout Wales. The initiative aims to make Wales a more attractive destination for cycling tourism, encouraging both dedicated cyclists and visitors who choose to cycle as part of their trips.
Local authorities, including Cardiff, were invited to a virtual meeting on 15 July 2026 to update them on work around the Grand Départ Tour de France 2027, and to outline the details of the Croeso i Feicwyr Fund.
Expressions of interest for the fund closed on 7 August 2026. Subsequently, officials have arranged to meet with Cardiff Council to discuss their submissions, prior to the application closing date (2 October 2026).
