What action is the Cabinet Minister taking to ensure that Cadw completes the restoration of the Nantgarw china works?

Answered by Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport | Answered on 11/08/2026

Responsibility for restoration and ongoing management rests with the Nantgarw China Works Trust, which leases the site from the local authority.  Cadw’s role is to provide specialist conservation advice and to determine applications for Scheduled Monument Consent and grant funding relating to the scheduled remains.

Cadw will continue to engage constructively with the Trust and provide specialist advice and support where appropriate.
