This Assembly:
1. Notes:
a) 21 June is clean air day
b) the damaging impact of air pollution on our health - Public Health Wales figures show air pollution causes 2,000 deaths a year, which is 6 per cent of Wales's total.
c) NO2 and particulate matter must both be dealt with in order to combat air pollution
2. Welcomes the group of charities and interested groups who have formed an alliance known as Healthy Air Cymru.
3. Believes that more action should be taken to tackle persistent air pollution and that clean-air zones are imperative to changing behaviour and improving citizens’ health
