National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:
1. Supports the call by First Choice Housing Association for a national strategy to end the unnecessary detention of adults with learning disabilities in hospitals.
2. Notes that around 125 adults with learning disabilities in Wales are detained in secure hospital settings, often far from their communities and families, with no clear plan for their future.
3. Further notes that a decade of failure by health boards and councils to integrate services is failing some of the most vulnerable people in society.
4. Calls for a national strategy to end this draconian practice in a progressive Wales.
