National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:
1. Notes Baby Loss Awareness Week (BLAW) 2026 takes place from 9 – 15 October.
2. Recognises BLAW provides an opportunity to raise awareness of pregnancy and baby loss, and the work needed to improve pregnancy outcomes and save babies’ lives across Wales.
3. Further notes the week culminates with the Wave of Light on 15 October, where families across the world light a candle at 19:00.
4. Calls on the Welsh Government to commit to improvements in care and support for bereaved families, and in the prevention of pregnancy and baby loss.
