This Senedd:
1. Notes 21 October 2026 will mark 60 years since the Aberfan disaster, in which 144 people were killed of whom 116 were children.
2. Recognises that this tragic event, the first major disaster seen through the lens of a television camera, reverberated around the world.
3. Acknowledges the depth of the grief felt by the bereaved and the psychological burden borne by survivors.
4. Pays tribute to the dignity and strength of the community, which has been so apparent as the people of Aberfan have come together to make arrangements to mark this anniversary.
