National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

1. Notes Carers Week 2026 (8-14 June) and welcomes this year’s theme of building carer friendly communities.

2. Recognises and appreciates the tireless work and dedication shown by hundreds of thousands of unpaid carers across Wales, whose care props up health and social care services.

3. Regrets that unpaid carers face poorer health, increased poverty, curtailed careers and isolation due to the demands of caring.

4. Calls on the Welsh Government to work rapidly to close the gap between carers’ rights in law, and the reality many face daily, to make carers’ lives better across Wales.
