National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:
1. Marks No Smoking Day - a national moment of encouragement for anyone wanting to quit smoking.
2. Notes 260,000 individuals are still smoking, which is a leading cause of preventable illness and a significant factor in health inequalities in Wales.
3. Recognises many smokers want to quit and are motivated by health, their children, or the rising cost of smoking.
4. Highlights the free support available to anybody thinking about quitting through the Help Me Quit service.
5. Calls on Welsh health boards to continue to make specialist stop smoking services and proven quitting aids a priority and as accessible as possible.
