OPIN-2025-0486 Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (e) Tabled on 24/09/2025

This Senedd:
1. Notes:
a) September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month;
b) approximately 180 under 25s are diagnosed with cancer each year in Wales, with around 80 being children;
c) cancer remains the leading cause of disease-related death in children and young people;
d) the unique challenges faced by children and young people with cancer e.g. treatment in specialist centres, access to age-appropriate services, and unique psychological support; and
e) the significant financial costs, including travel costs to access treatment and care.
2. Calls on the Government to work collaboratively with partners to support children and young people with cancer and their families so no one faces cancer alone.
