National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

1. Recognises Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain as:

a) an invaluable asset in creating new Welsh speakers through Welsh Medium Education;

b) a focal point in connecting and reconnecting diaspora families with their heritage; and

c) an important host of Welsh cultural events and a Welsh cultural beacon beyond the border.

2. Regrets the decision to withdraw its annual grant of £90,000 from March 2026.

3. Agrees that the closure of Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain would mean:

a) a loss of a deep-rooted community with a proven model of cultural and linguistic transmission; and

b) a valuable asset is lost for future generations.
