National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:
1. Notes the historical and cultural ties between Wales and Tibet.
2. Condemns:
a) the loss of education through the medium of Tibetan languages; and
b) the use of boarding schools as a forced assimilation policy.
3. Supports:
a) the legal right of Tibetan people to participate in their language and culture; and
b) the work of Tibetan activists to preserve their unique language and culture.
4. Calls on the UK Government to oppose:
a) transnational repression of Tibetan culture and language by the Chinese Government; and
b) international monitoring of the Tibetan diaspora.
