This Senedd:
1. Notes:
a) solar installation has increased at a slower rate since 2016;
b) Japan is requiring solar on new houses built by large-scale homebuilders after April 2025;
c) solar will be compulsory for new public and commercial buildings larger than 250m2 in the EU;
d) the Institute for Applied Ecology has identified capacity for solar along roads, over car parks, and in industrial areas in Germany;
e) solar systems contain 5.5 tons of copper per MW; and
f) increasing concerns about solar farms.
2. Calls on the Welsh Government to:
a) pause applications for solar on farms;
b) undertake a review of solar; and
c) develop a solar strategy.
