National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:
1. Notes that:
a) according to Age UK, 540,000 pensioners across Wales could lose out due to the UK Government's decision to cut winter fuel payments for people not on pension credit or other means-tested benefits; and
b) according to Age Cymru, 56,000 households in Wales do not receive the pension credit for which they are eligible.
2. Regrets that this cut will push thousands of pensioners into poverty, put older people’s health at risk and place further pressure on the Welsh NHS.
3. Calls on the Welsh Government to ask the UK Government to reverse the cut to winter fuel payments.
