National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:
1. Welcomes the opportunity to celebrate the work of Healthy Air Cymru on Clean Air Day on 20 June 2024.
2. Notes that:
a) almost 2,000 people die yearly in Wales due to particulate matter and other pollutants; and
b) there is evidence to suggest that poor air quality is linked to conditions including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart disease, and dementia.
3. Celebrates the enactment of the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024 and the commitment to reducing nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter.
4. Calls on all parties to collaborate to ensure the Act improves air quality in Wales.
