National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:
1. Notes that 1 April marked the 85th anniversary of the conclusion of the Spanish Civil War.
2. Further notes that around 200 Welsh people joined the International Brigades to defend the democratically-elected Second Spanish Republic against the forces of fascism and right-wing extremism.
3. Believes the heroic service and sacrifice of the Welsh volunteers in the name of Spanish liberty remains a powerful and inspiring example of international solidarity.
4. Calls on the Welsh Government to formally commemorate the Welsh volunteers of the International Brigades, and to promote public awareness of their story.
