OPIN-2024-0389 Fair Pay for Homelessness and Housing Support Workers (e) Tabled on 21/02/2024

This Senedd:
1. Notes the Welsh Government’s commitment to the Real Living Wage in its Programme for Government.
2. Notes the importance of a skilled and resilient workforce to achieving the ambition of ending homelessness.
3. Notes research by Cymorth Cymru and Community Housing Cymru which shows that 41 per cent of homelessness and housing support workers are currently paid below the upcoming (April 2024) minimum wage, and 67 per cent are paid below the Real Living Wage.
4. Calls on the Welsh Government to increase the Housing Support Grant for 2024/25 to enable workers to be paid at least the Real Living Wage.
