National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

1. Welcomes the opportunity to highlight chronic obstructive pulmonary disease through World COPD Day on 15 November 2023.

2. Notes that over 82,000 people in Wales have been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

3. Notes that 31 per cent of those with COPD who responded to Asthma and Lung UK’s 2023 Life with a Lung Condition survey had given up work because of their breathlessness, and many others reduce their working hours, retire, or die earlier than those without COPD.

4. Calls upon the Welsh Government to implement the Quality Statement for Respiratory Disease.
