OPIN-2023-0368 Anti-Slavery Day 2023 (e) Tabled on 27/09/2023

This Senedd:

1. Notes that on 18 October 2023 events will be held across the UK to acknowledge that men, women and children continue to be victims of the modern-day slave trade, despite the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade over 200 years ago.

2. Acknowledges that this day helps to raise awareness of the dangers of modern-day slavery, including human trafficking and exploitation, and encourages people to be proactive in their fight against slavery.

3. Notes the collaboration between the Welsh Government, Bawso, the Women's Institute, Soroptimists, Co-operative Party and other third sector organisations, police and public organisations in tackling this issue.
