OPIN-2023-0336 International long-COVID awareness day 2023 (e) Tabled on 20/03/2023

This Senedd:

1. Notes with concern recent ONS figures revealing that around 95,000 people in Wales have long-COVID, and regrets the impact this condition has on them.

2. Notes the impact this has on our economy and public services, making people too ill to work and potentially causing financial insecurity due to inadequate statutory sick pay.

3. Urges the Welsh Government to keep the Adferiad programme under review, engaging with patient representatives to ensure that it reflects their needs.

4. Calls on the Welsh Government to join with Wales TUC Cymru in putting pressure on the UK Government to recognise long-COVID as a disability.
