National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:
1. Notes the findings of Community Leisure UK, the membership body representing charitable trusts operating almost 900 community swimming pools across the UK, that half of those swimming facilities face closure or service reduction within six months as a direct result of massive increases in power costs.
2. Recognises that 17,000 jobs would be at risk over that period.
3. Believes that swimming is an essential life skill and leisure facilities provide a means for supporting health and wellbeing.
4. Calls on UK Government to urgently review its decision to exclude swimming facilities from continuing support for rising energy costs.
