This Senedd:
1, Welcomes the investigation by the charity Electrical Safety First into the online sale of unsafe electrical devices that claim to help householders save on energy bills.
2. Notes that many devices investigated failed basic safety standards and posed a serious risk of fire or electric shock, and condemns selling practices which capitalise on increasing energy costs by undercutting safety standards.
3. Shares Electrical Safety First’s concerns around sub-standard electrical products and the sale of unsafe goods on online marketplaces by third party sellers and supports the recommendations to only purchase electrical goods from trusted retailers.
