OPIN-2022-0289 Myeloma Awareness Week (20-26 June) (e) Tabled on 16/06/2022

This Senedd:
1. Notes Myeloma Awareness Week (20-26 June).
2. Recognises that myeloma is a less common incurable blood cancer.
3. Expresses concern that 1 in 4 myeloma patients wait over 10 months for the correct diagnosis, and that evidence from Myeloma UK demonstrates that 49 per cent of patients who had a delay in diagnosis experienced a high impact on their quality of life.
4. Encourages people experiencing the most common symptoms of myeloma - fatigue, back pain, recurring infections, or broken bones - to go see their GP.
5. Encourages Welsh Government and NHS Wales to work with charities such as Myeloma UK to help raise awareness of myeloma.
