OPIN-2022-0251 St David's day bank holiday (w) Tabled on 20/01/2022

This Senedd:

1. Notes that the right to create bank holidays has been given to the governments of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

2. Notes that there is a new bank holiday in June to celebrate jubilee of Elizabeth II.

3. Recognises that there are eight bank holidays in England and Wales, nine in Scotland and 10 in Northern Ireland.

4. Recognises that there is the St Patrick's bank holiday in Northern Ireland, and the St Andrew's bank holiday in Scotland.

5. Calls on the Welsh Government to demand the devolution of the right to decide on bank holidays and to demand that St David's Day should be a bank holiday.
