National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

1. Notes the week commencing 17 January 2022 is Cervical Cancer Prevention Week.

2. Recognises that attending cervical screening is important and can save lives, but is not always easy.

3. Understands that recent changes to the cervical screening programme, and the way they were communicated, have caused anxiety and confusion.

4. Urges Ministers and Public Health Wales to prioritise restoring confidence in the programme through clear and direct communication to answer the concerns many have.

5. Highlights that Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust provide continuous information and support.

6. Encourages Members to support the week to reinforce the value of attending cervical screening.
