National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

1. Notes that Wales has a proud history of welcome and aspires to be a Nation of Sanctuary.

2. Expresses concern with regards to the UK asylum system.

3. Recognises that the UK Government’s Nationality and Borders Bill will create a two-tier system, penalising people based on journeys they make.

4. Notes that the Bill undermines people’s ability to rebuild their lives and, as a globally responsible nation, the UK must uphold international law.

5. Calls on the UK Government to withdraw the Nationality and Borders Bill and work collaboratively to build a more humane asylum system.
