National Assembly for Wales

This Senedd:

a) welcomes National ‘No Smoking Day’ on 10 March 2021;

b) supports the calls to reach out to friends and family who suffer from nicotine addiction to help them quit smoking for good;

c) notes concerns that no new targets have been set to reduce the number of smokers in Wales;

d) supports Asthma UK and British Lung Foundation Wales’s call for a new smoking and tobacco strategy, with a target for Wales to be a smoke-free nation by 2030 (5 per cent or less smoking population);

e) calls for increased support for ‘Help me Quit’ services provided by NHS Wales.
