OPIN-2020-0183 COPD Day 2020 (e) Tabled on 10/11/2020

This Senedd:

1. Welcomes the opportunity to highlight chronic obstructive pulmonary disease through World COPD Day on 18 November 2020.

2. Notes that over 76,000 people in Wales have been diagnosed with COPD, a group of lung conditions that causes breathing difficulties.

3. Understands that exercise and self-management, such as pulmonary rehabilitation (PR), is the most effective way to improve someone’s quality of life.

4. Celebrates the outcomes of the British Lung Foundation’s (BLF) ‘Helping you, Help yourself’ self-management programme.

5. Seeks to implement the recommendations of the BLF’s ‘Living, Breathing, Learning’ report by increasing access to PR and supporting the Right to Rehab campaign.
