OPIN-2020-0160 Impact of lockdown on blind and partially sighted people (e) Tabled on 28/05/2020

This Senedd:

Notes that a survey undertaken by RNIB found that 74 per cent of respondents indicated concerns about accessing food during lockdown and 21 per cent reported that they had to ration food.

Notes that 66 per cent of respondents feel less independent now compared to before lockdown.

Understands that these findings indicate that Welsh blind and partially-sighted people have been hit particularly hard by coronavirus measures and hopes that solutions can be found to support this group as lockdown measures are eased.

Calls on Members to work with constituents with sight loss to break down barriers.
