Questions For - First Minister
Will the Welsh Government support a full Welsh inquiry into grooming gangs?
Protecting children and supporting victims and survivors must be our first priority. Wales is already within the remit of the statutory independent inquiry into grooming gangs and I welcome last week's announcement of dedicated inquiry activity in Wales. We are engaging fully with the inquiry, ensuring Welsh voices are heard, while continuing to strengthen safeguarding arrangements and support victims and survivors across Wales.
What action is the Welsh Government taking to increase levels of local procurement?
I want every £1 we spend to work harder for people, businesses and communities. Policies we are considering will create more opportunities for Welsh businesses, support good jobs, build skills and strengthen local supply chains. Our aim is to help Welsh firms compete for more contracts, retain more value in Wales and move closer to our ambition of spending 70 per cent with Wales-based suppliers.
Will the First Minister provide an update on the new Digital Strategy for Wales?
The new digital strategy for Wales will support digitisation and innovation in the Welsh economy, drive public service transformation and create the conditions for the safe and ethical adoption of artificial intelligence. Work is under way to scope the strategy's themes and priorities. We will engage with partners and stakeholders across sectors so that it is ambitious and inclusive.
