We are supporting the NHS in Wales to develop, test and adopt new technologies. This includes innovation in genomics, immunisations and the use of digital tools such as the NHS Wales App, electronic prescribing and ambient voice technologies to deliver efficiencies for service users and clinicians alike.

Improving NHS dentistry is a top priority for this Welsh Labour Government and we’re delivering.

In North Wales, nearly 90,000 people have accessed full dental treatment under our reformed contract. We’ve reinvested over £6 million in local services in just 12 months. And we’re rolling out new digital tools like the Dental Access Portal so people get seen faster.

Mobile units can help, but they’re not a long-term fix. That’s why we’re investing in permanent clinics, training the next generation of dental professionals right here in Bangor, and backing new practice models like the Dental Academy.

This is real investment in NHS dentistry, not sticking plaster solutions. 

Our approach is set out in the Quality Statement for Cancer and the National Cancer Leadership Board was established in February to coordinate the improvement of cancer services. Our focus is on working with health boards to improve performance against the cancer waiting time target.

After years of Tory chaos and disrespect for devolution, we’re finally seeing grown-up government again - governments across the UK working together, not against each other.

Since the election, we’ve had 33 formal intergovernmental meetings, real engagement, real respect. That’s already delivering: £5 billion extra for Wales, £500 million for steel, £445 million for rail, and big wins on research, coal tip safety and green energy.

We’ve had no breaches of the Sewel Convention. We’ve been able to shape UK legislation. And we’re building long-term relationships that put Wales at the heart of UK policy.

This is what mature, constructive partnership looks like and under Welsh Labour, we’re making co-operation work for Wales.
