What assessment has the Cabinet Secretary made of the impact in Powys of 20mph speed limits being in place for one year?

The primary aim of the policy is to save lives and reduce casualties. Quarterly data from Powys shows a decline in collisions since the 20mph limit was introduced. However, the low number of yearly collisions means at least three years of data are needed to assess the policy's impact.

Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the temporary speed restrictions on trunk roads in Monmouthshire?

The temporary 50mph speed limits on the A40 and M48 have been implemented due to the deteriorated condition of the road restraint system at several locations.

The design for the replacement of the M48 barriers is currently underway and the design for replacement of the barriers for the A40 is included in this financial year (24/25). The schemes remain a priority for construction within our Capital Safety Fence programme and will be advanced as soon as funding permits.

The Welsh Government continues to support those at risk of falling into fuel poverty.
