National Assembly for Wales

To propose that the Senedd:

1. Appreciates and values the palliative and end-of-life care provided across the Welsh NHS and hospices.

2. Recognises the vital role played by hospices in Wales in providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care.

3. Notes the significant financial pressures facing hospices in Wales and the call from Hospice UK and Hospices Cymru for additional funding to protect hospice services.

4. Calls on the Welsh Government to:

a) develop a long-term plan to improve palliative and end-of-life care across Wales, ensuring high-quality services are available to everyone who needs them;

b) set out how it will deliver fair and sustainable funding for hospices across Wales; and

c) ensure that the Welsh NHS and hospices in Wales have the workforce they need to deliver safe, high-quality and sustainable palliative and end-of-life care.
