National Assembly for Wales

To propose that the Senedd:

1. Notes a proposal for a Bill that would make provisions for the Welsh Government to assist the owners of privately owned reservoirs in Wales with mitigating high risk qualifications.

2. Notes that the purpose of this Bill would be to:

a) create a duty for the Welsh Government to annually review all privately owned reservoirs in Wales;

b) establish a fund to assist privately owned reservoirs with reducing their risk level from high; and

c) make it a legal responsibility for the Welsh Government to proactively cooperate with owners of privately owned reservoirs to reduce the risk where it is expected that an uncontrolled release of water could endanger human life.
