National Assembly for Wales

To propose that the Senedd:

1. Recognises the vital role that Mr Alan Bates and the Justice for Sub-postmasters Alliance have played in unearthing the British Post Office scandal.

2. Acknowledges the work of the Post Office Horizon IT inquiry in establishing a clear account of the implementation and failings of the Horizon IT system.

3. Welcomes the decision by Paula Vennells to return her CBE.

4. Notes that the Welsh Government has two contracts with Fujitsu, both relating to smart ticketing systems.

5. Calls on the Welsh Government to:

a) review their contracts with Fujitsu;

b) support an application for Mr Alan Bates to receive a knighthood; and

c) work with the UK Government to ensure that sub-postmasters in Wales receive compensation.
