National Assembly for Wales

To propose that the Senedd:

1. Notes the importance of agriculture to Wales in economic, social and environmental terms and in terms of food security.

2. Notes the importance of keeping Wales's best agricultural land for food production.

3. Notes that Planning Policy Wales states that considerable weight should be given to protecting best and most versatile (BMV) land from development, because of its special importance.

4. Calls on the Welsh Government to take steps to ensure that BMV agricultural land is not lost to developments such as solar farms or tree planting.
