Bore da, hoffwn groesawu Aelodau i gyfarfod cyntaf Pwyllgor Plant, Pobl Ifanc ac Addysg y chweched Senedd.

Good morning, I wish to welcome Members to the first meeting of the sixth Senedd's Children, Young People and Education Committee.

I'd like to welcome you all—Members—to the first meeting of the sixth Senedd Children, Young People and Education Committee. In accordance with Standing Order 34.19, I've determined that the public are excluded from the committee's meeting in order to protect public health. In accordance with Standing Order 34.21, notice of this decision was included in the agenda for this meeting, published on Monday. The public items of this meeting are being broadcast live on Senedd.tv, with all participants joining via video-conference. A Record of Proceedings will be published as usual. Aside from the procedural adaptation relating to conducting proceedings remotely, all other Standing Order requirements for committees remain in place. The meeting is bilingual, and simultaneous translation from Welsh to English is available. We've received no apologies. Are there any declarations of interest from Members? No, I see that there are no declarations. Finally, if I drop out of the meeting for any reason, I propose, in accordance with Standing Order 17.22, that Ken Skates temporarily chairs while I try to rejoin. Are Members content with that? I see Members are.

2. Cylch gwaith y Pwyllgor
2. Committee remit

So, we'll move on to the first item on the agenda, which is the committee remit. You've all received a paper, and the paper sets out the remit and responsibilities of the Children, Young People and Education Committee. Members are invited to note that remit. Are all Members content? Lovely, brilliant.

3. Papurau i'w nodi
3. Papers to note

Papers to note now, on item 3. So, this is for Members to note the following papers: paper 1 to note is the fifth Senedd's chairs' forum legacy report. Paper to note No. 2 is the fifth Senedd CYPE committee's final report on the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people. Paper 3 is the Welsh Government's response to the fifth Senedd CYPE committee's final report on the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people. Paper 4 is the letter from the former Minister for Mental Health, Well-being and Welsh Language providing an update on the predecessor committee's work on perinatal mental health. And paper 5 to note is a letter from the former Minister for Education providing a response to the predecessor committee's letter on education otherwise than at school. Are all Members happy to note those papers? Fantastic.

4. Cynnig o dan Reol Sefydlog 17.42(ix) i benderfynu gwahardd y cyhoedd o'r cyfarfod am weddill y cyfarfod
4. Motion under Standing Order 17.42(ix) to resolve to exclude the public from the meeting for the remainder of the meeting

Cynnig:

bod y pwyllgor yn penderfynu gwahardd y cyhoedd o weddill y cyfarfod yn unol â Rheol Sefydlog 17.42(ix).

Cynigiwyd y cynnig.

Item 4—I propose, in accordance with Standing Order 17.42, that the committee resolves to meet in private for the remainder of the meeting. So, are Members content? We will now proceed in private.

Derbyniwyd y cynnig.
