Prynhawn da. Welcome, everybody, to today’s meeting of the Wales COVID-19 Inquiry Special Purpose Committee. Joyce Watson has sent her apologies. In the absence of Joyce, who is a Co-chair, the first item on today’s agenda is to elect a temporary Co-chair, in line with the agreed Co-chairs protocol. Therefore, under Standing Order 17.22, can I call for nominations for a temporary Co-chair? Sam Rowlands.
Yes, thanks, Chairman. Can I nominate Buffy Williams, please?
Are there any other nominations? No, that's fine. I therefore propose that Buffy Williams is appointed temporary Co-chair for today's meeting.

Can I move on by welcoming Sam Rowlands, who’s replaced James Evans, to the committee, as well as Rhianon Passmore, who replaces Vikki Howells on the COVID-19 special purpose committee as well? Can I thank James and Vikki for their work on the committee, and wish them well in their various new roles? I look forward to working with Sam and Rhianon on the committee as well.
There are no other apologies that have been received, but are there any declarations of interests that Members wish to declare? No.
Item 2 is papers to note. We’ve got the letter from the COVID committee observation group. Can I invite Members to note that letter? Yes, noted. Okay.

Can I propose, in accordance with Standing Order 17.42, that the committee resolves to meet in private for the remainder of today’s meeting and the start of the next meeting on 4 November 2024? Are all Members content? I can see that all Members are content. I’ll just wait until we go back to private.
